As a woman of color and daily cannabis user, it is important to me to actively push to change the negative stigma around the cannabis plant. Weed helps me in soooo many ways, some days it literally saves my life. Like myself, there are so many people who benefit from using cannabis, however, there are still just as many people who are denied safe access. Imagine knowing this plant could help you, your family members and friends but being too scared to use it due to society’s stigma and limited accessibility. I am launching a *mini-project* with the intention of showcasing successful, motivated, beautiful, powerful people who are proud to use cannabis. It can feel really uncomfortable and vulnerable when you first tell your family, friends, and peers about your cannabis use. By connecting with each other emotionally and powerfully through our stories, together we can help free the cannabis plant. Because no one should EVER be in prison, lose their job, lose custody or be judged for the use of the greatest healing plant. This project will be titled “Beautiful and Blooming” with the hopes that beautiful people opening up about the benefits of cannabis will create a ripple effect of people being inspired to stop feeling guilty about their use.
It is our job as cannabis advocates to work together to change the stigma surrounding cannabis and its users. By sharing our stories and being transparent about our experiences with cannabis, together we can help free the cannabis plant.
